Racehorse owner Andrew Gemmell talks about some of his biggest bets, and why UK prize money is abysmal

Andrew Gemmell, 68, is a former local government officer turned racehorse owner. Blind since birth, he found fame in 2019 when his horse Paisley Park won the prestigious Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. He went on to win six other major National Hunt hurdle races, including the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot in 2020. He lives between Shrewsbury and London.
