Among the Payson groups on the qualifying list: Friends of Rim Country GCC, Inc.; Payson Area Habitat for Humanity, Inc.; Payson Community Kids; Payson Senior Center; Time Out, Inc.; Dueker Ranch; Payson Christian Clinic; Payson Helping Payson; Payson Lions Charitable Foundation; Pine Strawberry Food Bank; Rim Country Hospice Foundation Inc.; Rim Country Rotary Club Foundation; Soroptimist International of Zane Grey Country; U-Turn for Christ â Arizona.

Itâs no surprise to learn 2020 has been an exceptionally difficult year for the nonprofit sector. With economic downturns, people are donating less, and with social distancing, people are volunteering less. The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits estimates state nonprofits may lose more than $400 million by yearâs end. According to their October report, the majority of Arizona nonprofits are projecting a net operating loss for the year. Luckily, 51% of organizations indicate it is âhighly unlikelyâ that they will have to close permanently in their next fiscal year.Â
For the past several years a group of Southern Arizona non-profits have combined resources to help inform Arizonans about the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit program. This year, group feedback and a conversation with another coalition in Northern Arizona led the group to seek a partnership with the Arizona Community Foundation.
In the summer of 2020, the group partnered with Angie Laskarides, MA, CAP, Arizona Community Foundation to open a collaborative fund to allow donors a âone-clickâ donation process. âThe Arizona Community Foundation is excited to assist Southern Arizona non-profits in achieving their goals. This partnership serves a common good with greater efficiency, and we are pleased to be able to meet the Coalitionâs needs through a collaborative fund,â said Laskarides.
