Trent Rodney certainly would. The 32-year-old has a passion for West Coast modern architecture, a passion he’s turned into a thriving real estate business.

Rodney and his cohorts, Jason Choi and Karim Bhatia, specialize in selling West Coast modern homes, built from 1945 right up to today. Their pitch is they’re selling architecture, not just real estate.

The most expensive real-estate deal in B.C. so far in 2021 involves a home perched over steep rocky terrain in West Vancouver.
Called the Sunset House, 3681 Sunset Lane sold at its listing price of $10.5 million.
The custom house’s focal element is a suspended infinity pool hovering 40 feet in the air.
B.C. Assessment placed the property’s 2021 value as of July 1, 2020 at $9,082,000.
Based on tracking by real-estate site Zealty.ca, 3681 Sunset Lane was sold previously on November 24, 2015 for $9.7 million.
Before that 2015 sale, there were three other but unsuccessful listings for the property for the price of $14,888,000.

Realtors sell houses, and that’s what Trent Rodney does.
“I am obviously a realtor,” Trent says matter-of-factly.
But he also says he’s not, really.
“Basically, I don’t see myself as a realtor,” Rodney tells the
Straight in a phone interview. “I see myself more as an art dealer.”
Rodney is one in a triumvirate with Jason Choi and Karim Bhatia at West Coast Modern, a West Vancouver-based realty company.
The boutique firm takes its name from a style grounded in the philosophy of organic architecture or the union of design and nature.
