Kolkata, Jan 17: Three time Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Satabdi Roy, who has called a truce with the party after a brief rebellion that triggered speculations of her crossing over to the BJP, was on Sunday appointed vice-president of the West Bengal unit of the ruling Trinamool Congress.

Expressing happiness over the news, Roy told reporters, she will work as a dedicated worker of the party and ensure defeat of the BJP in the coming assembly polls. If you take up the matter concerning the party with the top leadership, it is addressed. This development proves that. I welcome the decision, Roy said on her appointment as the state unit vice-president in the reshuffle.

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], January 17 (ANI): A day after she dismissed speculations about joining BJP, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Satabdi Roy was appointed as the vice-president of the party s West Bengal unit.
In a statement, the TMC informed that Satabdi Roy, along with party leader Moazzem Hossain and Shankar Chakraborty is appointed as vice presidents of the West Bengal unit of the party. The All-India Trinamool Congress (AITC) under the guidance and inspiration of party Chairperson Mamata Banerjee is pleased to announce new members for posts in West Bengal Trinamool Congress State Committee. Please note the rest of the functionaries are to remain the same, the party s statement said.

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], January 16 (ANI): Actor-turned-politician and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Satabdi Roy dismissed speculations about joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) through a social media post on Saturday and also appealed to party workers not to give undue advantage to opponents.
On her social media page, Roy said, I will continue performing my duty as a TMC soldier. I appeal to all members of the Trinamool family to work together for the sake of Bengal ignoring the issues if you have any and no to provide undue advantage to opponents.
