Kohima: Indian Air Force (IAF) resumed its operation with Mi-17 helicopters equipped with Bambi Bucket to douse the wildfire at Dzukou Valley near Kohima on Sunday.
According to media report four Mi-17 helicopters have been deployed at Dimapur and Rangapahar to tame the massive fire of Dzukou Valley which caught on December 29 last year. Indian Air Force helicopters resumed Bambi Bucket operations today towards dousing the fire in Dzukou Valley near Kohima. Four Mi-17 helicopters have been deployed at Dimapur & Rangapahar for the task: IAF, tweeted ANI.

DZUKOU: As many as 60 personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were deployed to extinguish the wildfire in the scenic Dzukou Valley in Kohima district of Nagaland.
According to reports, three helicopters equipped with Bambi bucket have been deployed by the Indian Air Force (IAF) to fight the wildfire.
IAF Mi-17 V5 helicopter was deployed for the fire-fighting mission at the valley near Kohima, while a C-130J Hercules aircraft airlifted the nine-tonne load with 48 NDRF personnel from Guwahati to Dimapur. IAF is deploying three more helicopters equipped with Bambi Bucket, informed IAF via Twitter.

Kohima: The forest fire raging in Dzukou range in Nagaland has been brought under control with the help of the Indian Air Force helicopters, police, forest department and local volunteers, officials said on Saturday.
The Dzukou range in which the majestic Dzukou valley, a tourist hot spot in Nagaland is located, caught fire on Tuesday afternoon.
The Manipur government has requested the NDRF and the Army to help contain the wildfire which broke out in Dzukou Range in neighbouring Nagaland and has spread to Senapati district of the state, officials said on Thursday. The fire broke out in the Dzukou Range in Nagaland on Tuesday and has crossed over to Manipur side, they said.
Manipur Chief Minister Chief Minister N Biren Singh conducted an aerial survey of Dzukou valley in Manipur s Senapati district on Thursday accompanied by Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, Director General of Police L M Khaute in a helicopter to assess the situation, a state government release said. The Dzukou Valley is a valley located at the borders of Nagaland and Manipur.
