Zero carbon buildings graced the inaugural expo held at the National Convention & Exhibition Center (Tianjin) from June 24 to 27.
The China Building Science Conference and Green Intelligent Building Expo saw featured products and services from some 500 domestic and foreign providers across the entire chain of building industries, exhibition products, materials and applications with innovative, conservation-savvy and eco-friendly components.
The exhibition took place in the first phase of the center with an indoor area of 200,000 square meters and hosted 150,000 visitors over the four-day event.
Sturgis Kiwanis inducts new members

Sturgis Kiwanis Club has inducted three new members, Jack Scheske, Marcus Gauthier and Aaron Miller.
At the club’s weekly luncheon April 28, the trio was presented to membership by Tom Duke, chairman of the Kiwanis membership committee, and sponsors Eric Scheske, Brian Oswald, and Randy Pahls. The newest members received a certificate of membership, Kiwanis Circle “K” Pin and badge.
Kiwanis is a worldwide service organization that focuses on youth programs and community service.
The club meets at 11:45 a.m. each Wednesday at Sturges-Young Center for the Arts.
Howe Lions plans Memorial Day service
A FILM fan and photographer who travels around the country matching scenes from shows and movies to their real-life backdrops has put the spotlight on Bolton’s filming locations for It’s A Sin. For his Instagram account Stepping Through Film, Tom Duke takes snaps of stills in the locations where the scenes were shot, from Harry Potter to Dr Who. Earlier this year he captured where scenes from the hit Channel 4 series were filmed in Bolton town centre, including along Le Mans Crescent and Queen Street. The five-part series aired in January this year and follows a group of young friends who move to London to start a new life.
