HG Construction has won a residential building at Argent Related’s £500m Tottenham Hale regeneration scheme.
The contractor will deliver the North Island building – an 18-storey block containing 136 new homes, including 80 shared ownership and 56 market sale with 3,000 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor. It is part of Argent Related’s wider Tottenham Hale scheme, which will see a new neighbourhood including more than 1,000 new homes created.
Construction has now started on the North Island building, which has been designed by architects Alford Hall Monaghan Morris.
HG Construction is a Hertfordshire-headquartered main contractor, whose £150.8m turnover made them the 96th largest firm in the UK in 2020, as shown in the 2020 CN100.
The first phase will consist of a mix of tenures for ownership and rent as well as commercial and leisure spaces, according to the architect, which said it would be collaborating with several other “high profile” practices and interior designers on the project.
Argent Related head of residential Tom Goodall said that the firm had “developed a relationship with Whittam Cox Architects on the back of their track-record and experience”.
“We believe their technical and commercial strength, as well their understanding of modern methods of construction, will help ensure we deliver exceptional quality buildings and homes,” he added.
Early work on the wider development started on site in early 2020. Brent Cross West station, which has been designed by Chapman Taylor, is also under construction with completion expected by the end of 2022.
