LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - Governor Kevin Stitt has signed a bill into law that allows hospital patients to designate a visitor to have unrestricted visitation.
House Bill 2687, or the âNo Patient Left Alone Act,â was written by Rep. Toni Hasenbeck of Elgin.
Rep. Hasenbeck says she filed the legislation after hearing from constituents who couldnât have loved ones visit them during the pandemic.
âAdding isolation on top of health struggles drastically affects the patientâs mental health, and many people died without getting to see their family or friends one last time,â Hasenbeck said. âI am very glad to see this bill signed into law so all Oklahomans can have at least one visitor while theyâre hospitalized.â

More than two dozen protesters filled the gallery on the fifth floor while the Oklahoma House in the chamber below was in session. Video showed demonstrators chanting, Stand united against all hate, and We will use our voices to stand against corruption, to fight hate, to defend Black and Brown lives.
