Dog owners in St. Anthony will soon have to re-license their canine friends.
At the end of December, current dog licenses and tags will expire. Although, dog owners can come into the city offices from Jan. 4 to Jan. 11 to re-tag their dogs for free.
Last year during the free licensing week, about 200 dog owners got their dogs tags during that week for free, according to the City of St. Anthony.
âItâs a way for us to encourage people to license their dogs,â said St. Anthony Mayor Donald Powell. âWe know unforeseen things happen and dogs leave their yard and it just makes it easier if the city gets involved.â
