Maine Campus Compactâs (MCC)
Donald Harward Faculty Award for Service-Learning Excellence honors up to three faculty members who have made public service an integral part of their teaching. This award is named for Donald W. Harward, valued founder of Maine Campus Compact, and former board member of National and Maine Campus Compacts.
GOALS
â Celebrate faculty who work to institutionalize service-learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
â Each nominee must be a current faculty member at an MCC member institution. (UMaine is a member institution.)
NOMINATION GUIDELINES
â Each campus may nominate up to three faculty members. The Presidentâs office will receive all nominations and determine which will be submitted to MCC.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2021 Maine Campus Compact Awards Ceremony.
This year the Donald Harward Faculty Award for Service-Learning Excellence, the Heart and Soul Student Award and a special Community Health Hero Student Award, created in response to the COVID-19 crisis, will be presented. MCC will also recognize one outstanding community partner and one outstanding corporate partner at this yearâs virtual ceremony.
Nomination submissions for these awards are due Feb. 10. More information and nomination guidelines can be found online.
