Member of Parliament(MP) for Mpraeso Constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon Davis Opoku has accused some Chinese nationals of deliberately destroying water bodies and lands with illegal mining activities.
The motive of these unscrupulous Chinese, he explained, is to take over the cocoa industry in Europe which has been the backbone of Ghana s economy by engaging in illegal mining.

Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Hon Davis Opoku alluded to the fact that the Chinese are destroying the country s water bodies with chemicals so that the polluted water will destroy the cocoa beans and will not get the world market values, paving way for the Chinese who are also now growing cocoa in China.

A logistician and businessman, Mr Prince Boateng, has been elected the President of the Kwahu Professionals Network (KPN) at a meeting held on March 6 2021.
Mr Boateng and six others will be taking over from Davis Opoku (OPK), who is now the Member of Parliament for Mpraeso and led the Association s formation, which currently has over three thousand members in Ghana and across the globe.
The Kwahu Professionals Network (KPN) has been instrumental in promoting tourism and health in Kwahu, collaborating with Ghana Tourism Authority. The ‘Yenko Kwahu ‘ festival, which began two years ago, is led by the network.
Hesthalynna Ottuo Osafo, Diana Afua Konadu and Frank Danchie will serve as Vice President, Secretary and Membership Director, respectively, for the network. Felix Darfour and Joseph Baabu maintained their position as Communications and Finance directors.
The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso Constituency, Mr Davis Opoku has advised local assemblies to use new media to promote participatory democracy to ensure transparent and accountable governance.
In his maiden meeting with the Municipal Chief Executive and staff of Kwahu South Municipal Assembly, the young and affable legislature urged assemblies in Ghana to adopt technology in the discharge of their duties. He said, “assemblies must open up to participatory democracy by using new media. We need to start streaming assembly meetings on our Facebook pages so our people can contribute to the democratic practice at the local level.”
“In ensuring accountability, we owe it a duty to get our constituents informed in everything we do. This will ensure that they can hold us to our plans and programs in the municipal,” he added.
