(Wyoming News Now) - A Banner Wyoming Medical Center doctor points to the pandemic as a cause for the 30 percent increase in overdoses from 2019 to 2020. The mental health crisis is the reason why this is happening and people’s access to different substances. “They impair judgment and make it more likely to misuse prescription pain killers,” said Carol Solie M.D., the Banner Wyoming Medical Center Chief Medical Officer. Officers get dispatched to calls that could be classified as overdose calls.
