In a post on social media, the authority said Swindon needs to ‘shift the car out of reverse’ in order to follow the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown. The seven-day rolling average for the town has increased to 115.7 per 100,000 from 91 per 100,000 last Friday. This is much higher than the south west average of 68.4 per 100,000. Boris Johnson’s roadmap out of the third national lockdown was revealed on Monday and begins with the reopening of schools on March 8.
