Dubai SME launches new business incubator in American University in Dubai

Dubai: Dubai SME, the agency of Dubai Economy mandated to develop the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector, in association with the American University in Dubai (AUD), has added a new business incubator to its expanding network of certified business incubators and accelerators. The new incubator at AUD embodies the vision laid down in the 50 Year Charter of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to establish free economic and creative zones across universities in Dubai, to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among students. American University in Dubai fetes student winners of short-film contest on COVID-19 impact

Dubai: Prizes have been presented to the winners of American University in Dubai’s (AUD) short-film contest on mental health of students amid COVID-19. Dr David A. Schmidt, president, AUD, congratulated all the students who participated in the competition, called ‘Mental health of school students due to the spread of COVID- 19’. It was organised by AUD’s Mohammad Bin Rashid School for Communication, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Knowledge and Human Development Authority. Schmidt said the aim of the competition was to discover talents among students and to support and appreciate those talents. The presentation of prizes to the winners, in the presence of Dr Sabrina Joseph, AUD provost and chief academic officer, took place on Sunday.
