Facebook Share SAGINAW, MI - As seasonal agricultural workers make their way to Michigan, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and local organizations are teaming up to promote vaccinations in migrant communities. Migrant agricultural workers are active in many different state industries, from cherries to the Great Lakes Bay Region’s sugar beets, said Dale Freeman, the director of Migrant Affairs at MDHHS. They’re vital to not only harvest operations, but food processing and meatpacking as well, he said. They begin arriving around this time of year in larger numbers to assist asparagus production.

However, a new Eastern bypass  will benefit rural areas around the region and is the commonsense solution by taking traffic out of both the I-71 and I-75 corridors while boosting the economies of the outer reaches of Cincinnati for decades to come.
