The Australian pair, along with their injured countryman Samu Kerevi, received a free pass into next week s semi-finals when Damien Hill s Ricoh Black Rams were forced to withdraw from Sunday s quarter-final against Suntory Sungoliath due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

The Ipswich under-14 boys are celebrating their recent success at the Queensland championships where the team finished a commendable second. It was an awesome effort by the boys, head coach Derek Doyle said. Ipswich only lost 8-6 to eventual champions Redlands in the qualifying matches before going down 16-3 in the grand final at Redcliffe. The Ipswich team was: Ajay Grimsey, Isaac-James Martin, Mitchell Doyle, Blake Rumbel, Cooper Davenport, Joshua Moodie, Spencer Hughes, Cale Kaarsberg, Damien Hill, Nathan Hill, Jordyn Sharp, Tyreek Carlo and George Silva.

Former Wallabies vice-captain Samu Kerevi has again shown why he remains a wanted man in Australia with a powerful performance in round three of Japan s Top League. Among Wallabies coach Dave Rennie s top targets from overseas-based players, Kerevi ran amok, bagging two tries as Suntory Sungoliath outclassed Munakata Sanix Blues 75-10. With four tries in three games, blockbusting centre Kerevi is relishing life playing outside All Blacks playmaker Beauden Barrett. Such is the pair s scintillating form in Japan, Kerevi and Barrett could easily meet up on opposite sides later in the year during the Bledisloe Cup.
