Judge dismisses case against cop accused of assaulting woman at bar provided he finishes rehab
Updated Mar 10, 2021;
Charges against a Deptford Township police officer arrested in a domestic violence incident at the Jersey Shore last year will be dismissed after he completes programs addressing alcohol abuse and family violence, a municipal court judge ruled Tuesday.
Lt. David Grogan was charged with simple assault and resisting arrest following an incident outside of the Exit 6 bar in North Wildwood on Sept. 26.
Video released by police shows Grogan running after his girlfriend, who had just left the bar, and pushing her to the ground. North Wildwood officers who were nearby at the time rushed over to intervene.
Cop’s domestic assault charges could be tossed if he completes intervention programs
