The march followed the dawn parade, held at 4.20am, which was followed by Howard s dawn service at 5am.

Roadworks: Changing traffic conditions in Maryborough

Premium Content Subscriber only With works continuing in Maryborough from Ellena Street to Alice Street, one street’s roadworks will be changing sides from today, causing traffic situations to be altered. Maryborough’s Adelaide Street, as part of the Adelaide Street Revitalisation Project will switch from completing works on the western side to the eastern side of the street today. Works are said to go back to being completed throughout the night as the street will be closed to traffic from 6pm until 6am. Motorists using Adelaide Street from 6am until 6pm should be aware the street will be reduced to one-way traffic headed in a northbound direction.

Council votes again on bringing Gympie waste to M boro

Premium Content Subscriber only The possibility of Gympie waste being disposed of in Maryborough remains on the table after a vote at Fraser Coast Regional Council s March meeting. It comes after a vote in February in which the Fraser Coast council agreed to be open to negotiating a deal in which rubbish would be transported from Gympie to the Maryborough landfill as its own landfill site nears capacity. In the latest vote at the most recent council meeting Cr Paul Truscott moved to rescind the original resolution to explore the possibility of disposing of Gympie s waste in Maryborough. The motion was lost five to six with Cr Truscott, Mayor George Seymour, Cr Jade Wellings, Cr Phil Truscott and Cr Daniel Sanderson voting in favour of rescinding the resolution.
