Parkway, Turnpike drop speed limits as winter storm causes multiple crashes

Speed restrictions are being placed on long sections of the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike as a winter storm moves north and authorities say crashes are occurring on the highways.
The Parkway has a 45 mph speed restriction in both directions and in all lanes between exit 63A for Route 72 in Stafford Township and Exit 159 for I-80 in Saddlebrook. Three crashes were reported on the Parkway at Exit 157 in Elmwood Park, at Exit 145 for I-280 in East Orange and near the Asbury toll plaza in Tinton Falls.
