LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 19, 2021) Recently, a team of students from the University of Kentucky Lewis Honors College finished in third place in the Small Business Institute’s Project of the Year, in the Specialized Case Analysis category.
The students were enrolled in Patrick Walker’s The New C.E.O.: Chief Entrepreneurial Officer course.
The Small Business Institute’s Project of the Year competition is an annual competition for member institutions and their faculty to involve students in practical consulting projects. 1. Taylor McDaniels wins Atlantic Coast Conference’s Go Teach Tuition Giveaway grand prize.
“Being diagnosed with Dyslexia myself, I was always told I wasn’t good enough,” McDaniels said during the ACC Network interview Monday night when she learned she was the $20,000 grand prize recipient. “It was something that I never wanted anyone else to feel.”
McDaniels, a native of Monrovia, Md., and the youngest of nine children, plans to pursue her masters in special education. The UNC attacker scored 32 goals over 45 games for the Tar Heels and will graduate a semester early this December with a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies. Notre Dame midfielder Maddie Carr and Virginia Tech’s Sara Goodwin were also amongst the 15 student-athletes in the ACC who received a $2,500 future educators scholarship.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Atlantic Coast Conference, in partnership with the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation, announces the league’s Go Teach Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway recipients. The tuition giveaway awards one $20,000 grand prize in addition to fifteen $2,500 scholarships to student-athletes pursuing careers in education.
Redshirt Junior Elizabeth Mason was named one of the 15 $2,500 scholarship recipients as she plans to use that money to further her coaching education goals.
In her three seasons with the Seminoles, Mason has made a constant impact playing in 146 games. She has a .296 career batting average with 112 hits, 22 homeruns and 110 RBIs.
