Beyond the Bin: A Comprehensive Look at Recycling
Memorial Hall Library and a group called Andover WECAN (Working to Educate Climate Action Now) are teaming up for a three-part virtual series about local and statewide recycling efforts.Â
The discussion will kick off April 1 at 7 p.m. with a presentation called Is Recycling Still Alive by Neil Rhein, founder and executive director of Keep Massachusetts Beautiful.Â
Rhein will talk about what happens to trash and recyclables in Andover, as well as the worldâs plastic pollution crisis and how trash and recycling are managed in the Bay State.
Participants will learn how to make informed decisions about personal habits, learn ways to reduce waste, improve recycling habits, and make small changes to lead a more sustainable lifestyle.
Police goal: Giving warmth for winter Â
The Andover Police Department has been collecting blankets, coats, hats, gloves, scarves, socks and other warm clothing items through its Giving Warmth for Winter Drive.
The donation box will be in the Andover Public Safety Center lobby until Jan. 31. All donated items must be new and unused.
Bestselling author discusses latest book
On Friday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m., bestselling author Ace Atkins will discuss his latest book, Robert B. Parker s Someone To Watch Over Me: A Spenser Novel, in a Zoom webinar.
