“Cognitive Decoloniality: Two Cultures and the Transcultural, Exploring the Mental Experiences of Transcultural Literature from the Caribbean to the Maghreb” will take place
Thursday, Feb. 18 via Zoom. The event examines texts from Francophone North Africa and the Caribbean with an eye toward decoloniality, literature and the mind. Decoloniality references the power created through the processes, experience and aftermath of colonialization and explores the connections and ways of living that were displaced by the impact of colonialism.

Klein ISD receives $300,000 in hand sanitizer from local business
25 large pallets of hand sanitizer, about $300,000 worth, was given to Klein ISD last week by Farouq Systems, a local business.
Farouq Systems made the arrangement after reaching out to Klein ISD to see if they needed sanitizing items, a Klein ISD news release stated, and provided the district with about 17,000 bottles.
“We are so grateful for the support of our wonderful business partners in Klein ISD,” Klein ISD Community Relations Director Christy Spisak said. “We were thrilled to receive almost 17,000 bottles of hand sanitizer from Farouk Systems, Inc. Their generous donation makes all of the difference in the world for the educators and students in Klein.”
