Sometimes, the best thing you can do for a Marvel movie is to try and pretend the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t exist.
That’s definitely the case with “Black Widow,” premiering this weekend in theaters and on Disney+ premium access. On its own, it’s an entertaining, surprisingly funny action romp that felt like the perfect cross between an action movie and family comedy. When you bring in the rest of the marvel Universe, however, it mostly just highlights all of Natasha Romanoff’s wasted potential before she was killed off in “Avengers: Endgame.” “Black Widow” should have been the start of something great, not a belated apology.

It’s been awhile since we’ve really gotten to celebrate summer.
Maybe you feel a little out of practice, or nervous about jumping back into your usual activities. Or maybe you’re still in the kind of health situation that makes it a bad idea to venture out. Either way, here’s a list of streaming movies that will help you slide back into a summery mood.
Mama Mia! (Peacock)
Most of us can’t summer in Greece or suddenly break out into perfectly coordinated musical numbers, but we can watch “Mamma Mia!” The plot is paper thin, but that’s completely irrelevant when you’re watching Meryl Streep and company dance around in a sun-soaked paradise where all problems can be solved with the right Abba song. If your ideal cinematic summer vacation requires more Cher and less Streep, the sequel is available for rent from various streaming platforms.
Before “Spiral,” there was “Saw.”
Actually, there were a lot of “Saw”s. While the latest revival attempt for the long-running torture horror franchise is premiering exclusively in theaters today, May 14, all eight of the earlier movies in the series are available for streaming. If you’re interested in checking them out but don’t want to commit a full day to marathoning gore, here’s a guide to the “Saw” franchise.
“Saw” (HBO Max)
Though critics have never given much credit to the series, the initial entry was by far the best reviewed. This is where the psychology for the series is laid out – Jigsaw feels he’s testing the will to live of those he kidnaps and puts in his complicated torture devices. “Spiral” director Darren Lynn Bousman said this philosophy will also drive the events of the new movie as well, so if you want to get some insight into it this might be the best place to start. The gore is also more purposeful here than it is in later fil
Provável vencedor: “Nomadland”
Meu favorito: “Judas e o Messias Negro”
