Oakridger Debate may be underway over Tennessee s recently passed critical race theory law, but officials with Oak Ridge Schools plan to continue with their current curriculum and teaching about Oak Ridge s past. The new law will have very little impact on our curriculum, Kelly Williams, Oak Ridge Schools director of teaching and learning, told The Oak Ridger in an interview. She said the curriculum at Oak Ridge Schools was aligned to state standards and should still be acceptable under the new law. Recently approved by the Tennessee General Assembly, the law outlines some restrictions on teaching about racial issues in Tennessee s public schools.
