FCSS knows it’s no secret people have been lacking a certain degree of connection in their lives this past year.
In a previous existence, this was a month full of intimacy with the celebration of both Valentine’s Day and Family Day. The same cannot be said for February in the pandemic world. To help keep spirits afloat, Stony Plain FCSS has launched the “February Connection Challenge” from Feb. 14 – 21.

In 12 years, the number of Canadians living with alzheimer’s is expected to surpass one million.
January is Alzheimer’s awareness month and Stony Plain Family and Community Support Services is doing their part to bring attention to the disease which affects more than half a million Canadians today. That number is expected to double by 2033. The local organization will run a let’s talk dementia virtual forum in partnership with the Alzheimer’s society, free of charge on Jan. 19th.
