Why Bolton Wanderers new chief executive Neil Hart could be key summer signing

Wanderers new chief executive Neil Hart OTHER summer signings may have got pulses racing quicker at Wanderers – but the installation of a new chief executive in Neil Hart yesterday may just prove one of the more important news flashes of the season. It is approaching two years since Football Ventures completed their takeover at the University of Bolton Stadium and began the formidable task of rebuilding a club which had effectively been stripped for parts by previous ownership and a difficult administration. Establishing a managerial hierarchy was one of the first targets – but Sharon Brittan and Co could hardly have predicted at the time that relegation to League Two would then be accompanied by a global pandemic, testing even the strongest football clubs’ resolve.

Tony Mowbray had a finger pushed into his eye socket during the incident with Dean Holdsworth which saw him replaced. He has had tests to check that the eyeball wasn t scratched and has been given the all-clear and is training today despite bruising. He will be available Wednesday.

JohnsonGudjohnsen Out - Ipswich Town News

JohnsonGudjohnsen Out Monday, 15th May 2000 10:48 It seems likely that both Town and Bolton will be without two of their top men for Wednesday s crunch play-off second leg at Portman Road. David Johnson injured his neck in a clash with Mark Fish, whilst Eider Gudjohnsen was injured when Wayne Brown landed on him. Good news for Town is that Tony Mowbray may well be back in the Town defence after suffering double-vision when his head made contact with Dean Holdsworth s arm. Mowbray s return could well see Manu Thetis drop to the bench after a terrific display from Wayne Brown as substitute. The excellent Martijn Reuser seems likely to replace Johnson.
