Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 5) Singer KZ Tandingan only dreamt of becoming a “Disney princess” when she was little.
Like most kids her age, Tandingan grew up watching the same fairytale and princess flicks which was why she was pleasantly surprised upon hearing that she was handpicked by Disney Philippines to sing the entertainment company’s first ever Filipino language song, part of the soundtrack of the movie “Raya and The Last Dragon.”
“I grew up watching Disney movies, and I’ve dreamt of becoming one of the Disney princesses,” Tandingan said in an interview with CNN Philippines’

In the tradition of great anthems in the studio s catalog, Gabay will appear on the soundtrack of Raya and the Last Dragon, which is set to be released in local cinemas soon.
Bringing the theme to life is Filipino singer KZ Tandingan, who is best known as the inaugural winner of the X-Factor Philippines in 2012. Since then, she has built a name for herself as one of the country s most powerful vocalists and entertainers and even competed in the Chinese TV series Singer 2018.

After exciting us with a teaser, Disney Philippines on Tuesday revealed having handpicked Asia s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan to sing the first Disney Filipino song. Titled Gabay, the song celebrates the introduction of Disney s upcoming animated film Raya and the Last Dragon about a Southeast Asian-inspired princess and warrior. The movie is influenced by various Southeast Asian cultures including Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia.
