A list of child care centers and schools that El Paso County Public Health and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment have identified with having outbreaks of coronavirus.
Summit County reported 15 new cases of COVID-19 over the week, according to the county’s coronavirus webpage. The total number of cases among residents stands at 3,726. Four new hospitalizations among residents were reported over.

Summit County reported 19 new cases of COVID-19 over the week, according to the county’s coronavirus webpage the lowest number of new cases since the week of Sept. 6, when three new cases were reported.
The total number of cases among residents stands at 3,690. No new hospitalizations among residents were reported over the week, keeping the total at 136 since March 5, 2020.
, the county was reporting 64.6 new cases per 100,000 residents as of 4 p.m. Friday. That number is down 9.6 cases per 100,000 residents from last week.
On Thursday, Rep. Joe Neguse’s office announced that Summit County Head Start child care facilities would receive more than $14,000 in federal funds.
In December 2020, Neguse and New York Rep. John Katko introduced the Jump Start for Head Start Act that “would address the estimated funding shortfall for Head Start grantees and would appropriate funds directly to Head Start programs based on enrollment ratio,” according to Neguse’s website
.
In addition to the $14,747 coming to Summit County centers, $22,272 will be going to facilities in nearby Eagle County
.
According to the news release, the National Head Start Association estimated operational costs for the program increased by up to 20% in 2020 as individual programs adapted and responded to the pandemic. Neguse said the funding would help address those issues.
