With early voting over, attention turns to election day

MCLENNAN COUNTY, TX â City and school district elections just wrapped up early voting and now election day, May 1, is quickly approaching. Its really important to get out there and vote these are really important elections. Local government races have a direct impact on our lives so its important to get out there and vote said Dillon Meek, Mayor of the City of Waco.
Early voting had a mild turnout according to the city and officials are hopeful come election day, voter turn out will be larger.
Water restrictions lifted in Waco, McLennan County as systems are at less critical stage

MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas Residents in McLennan County and Waco are now allowed to return to normal water usage as both the county and the city have lifted mandatory restrictions put in place due to water system damage caused by the winter storm.
McLennan County Judge Scott Felton and City of Waco Mayor Dillon Meek also lifted orders restricting water use at several commercial facilities Sunday evening.

WACO, TX â According to the City of Waco, the water system is now at a less critical stage and normal water usage may resume.
The city is also thanking Wacoans for conserving water in order to avoid a city-wide boil water notice. Had a city-wide boil water notice been issued during the height of the storm event when more than 40,000 households were without power, many Wacoans would not have been able to boil water for drinking, the city said in a statement Sunday.

The arctic blast know as Winter Storm Viola has certainly left its mark across the country and even down here in Central Texas.
Millions of homes were without power for days and frozen or burst water pipes are just some of the issues we ve had to deal with since Monday, February 15.
As power has returned, lots of homes are still without water. Several cities have boil water notices in effect and Killeen, Temple and Copperas Cove have all set up water stations to help folk that need it.
