Shillong: Four Miners from Assam and one from Tripura were feared to be trapped after a dynamite blast led to the flooding of a coal mine in East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya, a senior police officer said.
Silchar superintendent of Police in Assam had sent information about the possible trapping of six miners from Assam in the mine accident on Sunday.

Haflong (Assam): At least 171 votes were cast in a booth in Assam’s Dima Hasao district, even though only 90 people were eligible to exercise their franchise, officials said on Monday, revealing a massive irregularity.
The voters’ list of the polling station had 90 names, but 171 votes were cast in the electronic voting machine (EVM), officials told PTI.

As Assam gears up for the last phase of assembly elections, five polling personnel in the state were suspended after it was revealed that 181 votes had been cast in a booth which had only 90 eligible voters.
As per a report in New Indian Express, the incident was reported from the 107(A) Khothlir Lower Primary School polling booth in the Haflong Assembly segment.
