An elderly Whitsundays region man is reportedly still shaken days after two men violently burgled his home.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said two men entered the home of an 84-year-old man at Dingo Beach about 9.30pm on Tuesday.
The spokeswoman said one of the burglars was armed with a firearm as the pair threatened the homeowner and demanded he hand over his car keys.
She said they stole the man’s car and fled the scene, with the vehicle found about midnight.
“The elderly man obtained assistance from his neighbours and police were called,” the spokeswoman said.

Construction on a long-awaited new boat ramp at Midge Point will begin in June and be complete in October, weather permitting.
Mackay MP Julieanne Gilbert said Queensland company Australian Marine and Civil was awarded the $1.55m contract to complete the works for the new boat ramp at Jimmy’s Rocks Road. “The contract includes construction of a new two-lane boat ramp and 120-metre-long access causeway at Jimmy’s Rocks Road,” Mrs Gilbert said.
“The design of the new facility accounts for the local marine habitat, large tidal range and wave conditions of the Midge Point area.”
