IRON MOUNTAIN The Dickinson County Library has begun hosting live storytimes via Zoom at 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
The first session Tuesday featured early literacy specialist Crystal Jacklovitz reading “Give It,” by Cinders McLeod. The book centers on an enthusiastic young bunny that discovers how good it feels to use his allowance to help others.
Each storytime will have a different theme, with take-n-make craft kits available for curbside pickup.

The Dickinson County Library will soon offer appointments to browse for books at all three library sites. Patrons will be able to schedule a 15-minute appointment to make their selections at the locations in Iron Mountain, Norway and Felch Township. Additional details will be posted on the library’s website at www.dcl-lib.org in the near future. All three library locations continue to offer curbside pickup of materials and limited appointments in the computer lab. Patrons can go online or call the library at 906-774-1218 to place holds on books or DVDs. As the materials are available, the staff will call to set up a pickup time. IRON MOUNTAIN Dickinson County Library sites in Iron Mountain, Norway and Felch Township continue to offer curbside pickup of library materials and limited appointments inside the building. New materials for checkout are being added all the time at all three locations.Â
Some recent new adult non-fiction titles include  “One Hundred Dogs and Counting” by Cara Sue Achterberg; “Rome is Burning: Nero and the Fire that Ended a Dynasty” by Anthony A. It might have all started with a baby blue jay.
When Phyllis Carlson was about 8 years old, a nest blew down in the yard at her home, spilling its occupants into the grass. Carlson said she collected the surviving chick and set it up in a box she placed outside her window.
She then watched the adult jays come in to feed its nestling.

FELCH TOWNSHIP The North Dickinson Branch of the Dickinson County Library will be closed the week of Dec. 21-27.Â
Both the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain and the Solomonson Branch in Norway will be open for curbside pickups and limited appointments inside the building from10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, through Wednesday, Dec. 23.
Normal hours for curbside pickups and limited appointments will resume at all library sites Monday, Dec. 28.
