Playing with Byrd in the final group, Guererro Lauria bested par on 8 through 14 to pull into a tie for the lead with four holes to play. SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Ryan Alford of Shreveport, Louisiana, a regular practice partner of PGA TOUR pro Sam Burns, shot a three-under 68 to capture the APGA Tour Scottsdale title Tuesday at TPC Scottsdale’s Champions Course.
The 24 year-old former Louisiana Tech golfer and high school teammate of Burns, fired a 65-68-133 (9 under overall) to top 2020 APGA Tour Player of the Year Tim O’Neal by three strokes with Tommy Schaff of Ridgeland, South Carolina, in third place, another stroke behind. Willie Mack of Flint, Michigan, and Aaron Beverly of Fairfield, California, tied for fifth at 3 under. SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Ryan Alford of Shreveport, Louisiana, shot a 6-under 65 to take a one-shot lead over Marcus Byrd of Nashville, Tennessee, in the first round of APGA Tour Scottsdale on the TPC Champions Course Monday.
Alford delivered five birdies and an eagle with a 30-footer on the ninth hole to fashion the best score of the day in perfect conditions at the PGA TOUR-owned, 7,115-yard par 71 layout. Byrd shot a 32 on the back nine that included an eagle on the dogleg par 4 15th hole. He drove the green with a 2-iron that traveled an estimated 290 yards and dropped a 35-footer for the unusual 2 but then made bogey on No. 18 to drop out of a tie for the lead.

LAS VEGAS - Kamaiu Johnson, whose journey against adversity amidst mutliple PGA TOUR sponsor exemptions captivated golf fans this winter, shot a final-round 70 to overcome a top-tier field and capture the APGA Tour Las Vegas tournament Tuesday at TPC Las Vegas.
The 28 year-old from Tallahassee, Florida, started the day in a three-way tie for first place and managed his way at even par around the 7,081-yard, par-71 TPC layout until carding a birdie three on the 14th hole to eke out the one-stroke victory over Nyasha Mauchaza of Port St. Lucie, Florida, with a two-day total of 138. The players navigated winds estimated at 25 mph in pursuit of the title as the APGA Tour made its debut at the prestigious PGA TOUR-owned course.
