Court round-up: The latest convictions from Doncaster Magistrates Court

Matthew Andrew Hartley, aged 41, of Childer Street, Hyde Park: Possession of the Class A drug crack cocaine, possession of the Class A drug diamorphine and possession of the Class C drug alprazolam. Fined £200, £85 costs. Anthony Phillip Stone, aged 31, of HMP Lindholme, Bawtry Road, Hatfield Woodhouse: Assault of a prison officer. Jailed for four weeks concurrent, £75 compensation. Tammy Stott, aged 42, of Lakeside Mews, Thorne: Assault by beating. Discharged conditionally for 12 months, £85 costs. Sean Robert Larner, aged 35, of Willow Grove, Thorne: Driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, drug driving, speeding. Jailed for ten weeks, fined £100, £85 costs, disqualified from driving for three years.

Further man, aged 20, charged with murder of Lewis Williams in Mexborough

Yesterday (Friday) a 20-year old man from Barnsley was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. A 49-year-old man also arrested yesterday on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession of ammunition has been bailed pending further enquiries. A 32-year-old man from Doncaster and a 22-year-old man from Rotherham remain on police bail while enquiries continue. Two other men, both aged 20, also remain on bail as part of the investigation. The two teens – a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons - are both charged with Lewis’s murder. They are both remanded into police custody and will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on 1 February 2021.
