Fanny Lumsden has cleaned up at the Golden Guitar Awards in Tamworth, taking home five gongs including album of the year.
Lumsden was named female artist of the year, while her album Fallow won album of the year and alt-country album of the year.
The singer-songwriter from Tallimba in NSW s central west also claimed single of the year for her song Fierce and best music video for Mountain Song/This Too Shall Pass, co-directed by her husband Dan Stanley Freeman.
Lumsden was feted in a low-key celebration at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Conference Centre, with COVID-19 restrictions forcing organisers to limit spectator numbers and implement a virtual red carpet.

Three months after winning an ARIA award for country album of the year, Australian country music artist Fanny Lumsden has taken home five Golden Guitar awards.

The 49th Country Music Association of Australia awards were held in Tamworth on Saturday night despite the cancellation of the Tamworth Country Music Festival due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and restrictions.
The January 29 date has been a long time coming for the singer-songwriter after a whirlwind 2020 brought unexpected hurdles in the form of COVID-19 and raging bushfires in her home town of Tooma, near the Snowy Mountains in NSW. Despite previously playing the iconic Gympie Muster and various other local shows, the Majestic Theatre gig will be Fanny’s first opportunity to showcase her touring band locally.
“It’s such a beautiful part of the world, I really love the atmosphere and there’s so much to do and see,” she said.
