In response to the COVID-19 situation in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai Peopleâs Committee has issued Directive No. 5991/TB-UBND on June 1.
Dong Nai isolates workers from Ho Chi Minh City 13:35 | 05/06/2021
Dong Nai is not the first province in the southern region to apply regulations on isolation of people from Ho Chi Minh City, but the policy has drawn widespread protests from the business community.
There are more than 6,000 workers residing in Dong Nai province commuting each day to industrial zones like Cat Lai, Linh Trung, Binh Chieu, and Le Minh Xuan 3
On June 4, Dong Nai People s Committee issued an urgent document announcing mandatory quarantine requirements for people returning to/from Ho Chi Minh City.
Accordingly, from 0:00 today (June 5), Dong Nai directed people in question to stay in quarantine at home or their accommodation for 21 days. At the same time, the province will collect samples of people in isolation to test for COVID-19 on the 7th and 14th days. Those who do not comply with the policy will be severely penalised.

Cao Tien Dung, Chairman of Dong Nai People s Committee, signed an MoU with AEON Mall Vietnam (belonging to AEON Group of Japan) on researching and investing in AEON Mall trade centre in Bien Hoa city.
According to the representative of AEON Mall Vietnam, this company aims to put into operation about 20 trade centres in the near future. Dong Nai province is considered by the company as a destination with great potential because of its large population with more than 3.1 million people. Plus, there are many projects of foreign-invested enterprises in the province.
