Life under Covid-19 lockdown in Vietnam town

Cai Rong Town, home to 10,000 people, in Quang Ninh Province, has been locked down to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
A checkpoint at the entrance to Cai Rong Town of Van Don District, is supervised by local authorities all day long. Officials do not allow anyone to enter, except for special cases.
Quang Ninh Province People s Committee decided to lock down Cai Rong from Jan. 30 to Feb. 21 after it registered infections linked to Van Don International Airport.
Local residents supply basic necessities to their relatives who are under quarantine in Van Don s Ha Long Commune.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long confirmed five new locally-transmitted Covid-19 patients in Quang Ninh, Hai Duong and Hanoi at the Government’s online meeting with 63 cities and provinces this morning, February 2.

Quang Ninh reported three cases, while Hanoi and Hai Duong confirmed one each.
Up to now, Hai Duong Province has reported 207 Covid-19 cases in the current wave, while Quang Ninh Province and Hanoi City have confirmed 33 and 20 cases, respectively. Gia Lai Province has reported six Covid-19 cases, Bac Ninh Province, three, Hoa Binh Province, two, and Binh Duong Province, two.

Many areas in Vietnam have been placed under lockdowns following the latest Covid-19 outbreak featuring a rapidly transmitting U.K.-originated variant.
The northern province of Hai Duong, the country s biggest hotspot in the new outbreak that struck last Thursday, imposed a 21-day lockdown starting January 28 after dozens of workers of a Taiwanese-run firm were found infected with the novel coronavirus.
