Double stabbing in Massachusetts city leaves 2 victims with serious injuries; Incident not believed to be random, police say

A double stabbing in Taunton over the weekend left two people with serious wounds, according to police.
Dispatchers received a call around 11 a.m. Sunday about a stabbing on Cohannet Street, Taunton Police Chief Edward J. Walsh said in a statement.
When police arrived, they found two adults who had been stabbed, according to the statement.
The victims were taken to nearby hospitals to be treated for injuries that are considered serious, the statement said.
“At this time, police do not believe that the incident was random and the suspect is in custody,” Walsh said in the statement.
