Unlimited Subs among the changes proposed to underage GAA following Louth Strategic Review

The world has of GAA has been in the doldrums for the whole of 2021, with the start of the National League in February postponed due to another Lockdown, before again being put on the backburner when inter county stars lost their ‘elite status’ in March.
But finally there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel with county panels back training and the new GAA calendar released giving supporters something positive to look forward to in the Summer.
While all the attention on the county has surrounded the Senior team and what success Mickey Harte might bring to The Wee County, in the background a Strategic Review was under way to see what the county board could do to improve the fortunes of the sport in Louth.
Having to watch as the building your club was located in burn to the ground because the fire service was stretched to its absolute limits is something you d expect to take place maybe at the turn of the 20th century, but 11th April 2003 is a date etched on the minds of the members of the Dundalk Commercial Club as they watched this very horror story unfold.
Thankfully there was no loss of life in the fire which gutted the premises in Earl Street that saw shops Mackenna Man, R.Q. O Neill s and the Democrat Newspaper severely damaged as the blaze swept through. Having to wait for a hydraulic platform to arrive from Belfast to aid an already struggling crew, proved to be catastrophic where the buildings were concerned.
