It happened near Dutch Colony Drive just before 11 p.m., according to a police news release. The driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu heading west on Dutch Colony Drive “disregarded a traffic control device” and struck a 2006 Honda Civic traveling southbound on Winton Road, the release states.

Man dies after crash in Winton Hills Thursday night Adam Schrand and last updated 2021-04-09 09:37:00-04 CINCINNATI — A driver died after a car crash in Winton Hills Thursday night after another driver struck him, according to police. The Cincinnati Police Department said 25-year-old Medardo Valdez Jr. was driving on Dutch Colony Drive around 11 p.m. Thursday when he disregarded a traffic control device. Valdez then struck a car on Winton Road driven by 43-year-old Olajide Adewumi. First responders transported Adewumi to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, but he died from his injuries at the hospital. Valdez had non-life threatening injuries and was also transported to UCMC for treatment as well.

Police: 43-year-old man dies after crash in Winton Hills

Medardo Valdez Jr., 25, is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular homicide, and vehicular manslaughter. Police said excessive speed and impairment appear to be factors in the crash. A 43-year-old man died after the Thursday crash in Winton Hills, according to the Cincinnati Police Department. Officers responded to the 5400 block of Winton Road at 10:58 p.m. Thursday.  Valdez, 25, was driving on Dutch Colony Drive, when he disregarded a traffic control device and struck a car traveling south on Winton Road, police said. Olajide Adewum, 43, sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He died as a result of his injuries.
