Hanoi officials are proud that over 1.6 million trees have been planted in the last five years (2016-2020), far exceeding a program target of one million.
When the program was launched in late 2015, the Hanoi Green Trees Park Company was asked to study tree planting methods and techniques from China and Singapore.
Several tree species were brought to the capital city, including jacarandas, Madagascar almonds, date palms and maples.
At the end of 2018, officials announced that the program’s target of planting a million trees had already been met and that they planned an additional 600,000 trees by 2020. That goal was also achieved.

The local authorities set up a fence 2.5 meters high to prevent them from entering the road, and assigned guards to scare them away, but the monkeys still attacked passersby.

Da Lat is more than a land of romance and brings different feelings to visitors depending on the season.
In summer, the mountain streets of the city in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong may bring a bit of boredom to tourists with rain. But in autumn, the orange colour of persimmon will spread among the gardens. That means it s the harvest season for the ripe fruit.
Walking on any road, one can easily find persimmon trees full of fruit. The orange colour of ripe persimmon looks like lights in the daylight. The harvest season starts in mid-September. But the trees look best from October when all the leaves fall and remain only ripe fruit on branches.
