Chatham-Kent police are searching for the thief who abandoned a stolen pickup truck after hitting a light post in Chatham early Friday morning.
The black Ford F-150 with Ontario licence plates AX74 909 was stolen from a Merritt Avenue residence between 7 p.m. Thursday and 3 a.m. Friday.

Chatham-Kent police are investigating two rural break-and-enters that have taken place since Christmas Day.
A barn was entered on a Maple Line property near Jacob Road in Dover Township late Monday or early Tuesday. A garage on an adjacent property was also entered.

Police don’t know exactly what was stolen because an inventory is still being compiled.
