Pickup truck gets struck on trail
ELLSWORTH The Hancock County Regional Communications Center got a call for help from a woman in Sullivan reporting that she and her boyfriend had gotten their pickup truck stuck on the Donnell Pond Trail just after 11 p.m. on March 28.
“They were over 3 miles in on the trail and there was no way for a wrecker to get to them,” said Deputy Jeff McFarland. “The Hancock RCC referred them to the Warden Service for assistance, as we were not able to get to them with a cruiser.”
Arrests
Deputy Dylan Hall arrested a Northeast Harbor woman after a traffic stop on the Bucksport Road in Ellsworth Saturday. Stacy Smith, 52, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.
ELLSWORTH Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a motorist after getting a complaint that a vehicle was driving on the wrong side of the road and had almost hit another vehicle head-on while on Front Ridge Road in Penobscot Feb. 11.
Deputy Marcus Downes arrested the motorist, Cullen Schneider, 40, of Orland, on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant and refusing to submit to arrest or detention.
“Schneider was intoxicated and refused to cooperate with commands given to her,” Downes said. “After a brief struggle, Schneider was removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest.”
ELLSWORTH The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Lamoine woman Jan. 12 after executing a search warrant.
Police arrested Kirsten Jacobsen, 47, on a charge of possession of illegal drugs. Jacobsen was taken to the Hancock County Jail.
Mental health issues
Deputy Dylan Hall went to Verona Island Friday to speak with a person having suicidal thoughts. Hall said the resident agreed to go to a hospital for help.

Deputy Marcus Downes helped a Glenburn man change his flat tire on the Bangor Road in Ellsworth Sunday.

Thefts
Deputy Dakota Dupuis is investigating a theft of money and a debit/EBT card from a shared Lamoine residence. The complaint was made Sunday.
