$1 5 Million in State Funding Awarded for Traffic Improvements at Patton Crossing Site

Newly awarded state funding will support an intersection expansion and creation of a new access road at the Patton Crossing mixed-use development site along North Atherton Street. The Commonwealth Financing Authority on Wednesday awarded $1.54 million to expand the intersection at North Atherton and Woodycrest streets, state Sen. Jake Corman, R-Benner Township, said in a statement on Wednesday. The project will create a four-way intersection, with a new six-lane access road into Patton Crossing opposite of Woodycrest Street. Work also will include replacing traffic signals, adding sidewalks creating and lengthening turning lanes and other improvements to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow.

$2 4 Million State Grant Awarded to Road Project for Toftrees West Development

A road project that will support the development of hundreds of acres on the west side of the Toftrees property in Patton Township was awarded a $2.44 million state grant, Gov. Tom Wolf’s office announced on Friday. Toftrees Development LLC received the Multimodal Transportation Fund grant to construct Masters Boulevard and an extension of Waddle Road. The project will include excavation, paving, sidewalks, a traffic signal and stormwater management to accommodate anticipated increased traffic flow in the area. It was one of 43 projects in 21 counties awarded a combined $45.9 million in grants from the Multimodal Transportation Fund for highway, bridge, rail, and bike and pedestrian improvements.
