Randolph’s Gaskin recognized as a Men’s Health Champion Community Content Ed Gaskin, of Randolph, was recognized as a Men’s Health Champion at Whittier Street Health Center’s 21st Annual Men’s Health Summit. In addition to the award, Gaskin received recognition from Boston Mayor Kim Janey and Gov. Charlie Baker. In his remarks, Gaskin said his next focus would be in the “Food as Medicine Space,” with the goal of lowering the incidence of diet related disease. He said he hoped to launch a new food line that would have little or no salt, fat or sugar and none of the top nine allergens to help achieve that goal. Diet is the major driver of preventable disease and has a disproportionate impact on Black Americans.

Some Tahoe churches move back to in person services after court ruling

On Friday, Feb. 6, a Supreme Court ruling lifted some restrictions on the way places of worship such as temples, churches, mosques and synagogues in California hold services during the coronavirus pandemic. The ruling went into effect immediately and as of the following Sunday, many places of worship around the state opened their doors to 25% capacity including local churches at Lake Tahoe. During California’s stay at home order, and for counties in the most restrictive purple tier, indoor services were prohibited. The cases brought to the Supreme Court stated that California’s tier-based restrictions were a violation of the Constitution’s free exercise of religion.
