FARGO, ND – North Dakota State women’s basketball head coach Jory Collins has named Sandra Abston an assistant coach.
Abston recently spent time as an assistant coach in Sweden. She worked for two seasons with the Fryshuset Basket Women’s Division I Team. Prior to the two seasons as an assistant coach, she was the head coach of the Fryshuset Basket Girls Under 17 1
st Division Team. As the head coach, she had six players invited to play for the Swedish National Team in the European Championship.

FARGO – North Dakota State University held Omaha scoreless for the opening 6 minutes and 7 seconds of the game en route to a 66-55 win on Saturday.
Leading by 7 points heading to the fourth quarter, NDSU opened the final frame on a 15-0 run to put the game out of reach for the Mavericks.
“Playing back-to-back is hard especially with every team’s unique style of play,” said NDSU guard Heaven Hamling on going up against the same opponent twice in the same weekend. “We saw it against Western and Omaha has their zone that they play, so I think you just have to use through it and just stick to the gameplan and finds ways to score.”
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Jayhawks (4-1, 1-0) will be back in action on Monday afternoon as they host North Dakota State (4-1, 0-0) at 1 p.m. (Central). The game will air on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with Jill Dorsey-Hall and Steven Davis on the call and can be heard live on the Jayhawk Radio Network with Jimmy Chavez calling the action.
Monday’s matchup is the second meeting between KU and NDSU, with Kansas leading the all-time series, 1-0. The last time the two teams met was Nov. 26, 2016, inside Allen Fieldhouse, where the Jayhawks defeated the Bison, 76-61. It will also be a reunion for many involved between the two programs. NDSU head coach Jory Collins spent a season on Kansas head coach Brandon Schneider’s staff at KU as well on his staff while the two were at Emporia State. NDSU assistant coach Dylan Geissert spent two seasons at Kansas as a graduate student manager from 2017-19.
