These are just some of the products pitched at an event at Split Spaces in Mackay on Friday night including from the founder of Mackay s Laneway Project which beautified the CBD with colourful murals. Qualified art educator Jodie Connolly said she wanted to enrich people s lives through contemporary art and engaged with Mackay artists as a creative matchmaking service . It had missing keys and was past its prime time but a thrown away piano somehow avoided becoming crushed on the rubbish heap.
It was moved inside the Incredable Tip Shop where Clancy Morgan spotted the old, worn out girl and proved it deserved a second lease on life.
“Many customers stopped to listen and really enjoyed the entertainment; some even came to compliment me on how nice it was to hear someone play the piano,” Ms Morgan said.
“This got me thinking about how lovely it would be to place a reconditioned piano somewhere in the Mackay community.”
