Vaccinations help our economy continue to open | News, Sports, Jobs

Todd J. Tranum President and CEO of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce & Executive Director of the Manufacturers Association of the As more and more New Yorkers get vaccinated, the state continues to lift restrictions for all types of businesses and venues. Governor Cuomo recently announced that effective May 19 most business capacity caps will be removed and businesses will be limited only by the space available for patrons to remain safely physically distanced. These changes will impact commercial settings, food services, gyms, amusements, entertainment, salons, houses of worship, and more. At the same time, venues that host sporting events, performing arts, and catered events will be able to operate at 30% indoors or 33% outdoors. Full capacity will be allowed for large gatherings where proof of full vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test can be shown. For the full guidance from the state visit https://forward.ny.gov.

Vaccination helps keep you, your family and the economy safe and healthy | News, Sports, Jobs

Todd J. Tranum President and CEO of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce & Executive Director of the Manufacturers Association of the Just a few short weeks ago we had people eagerly waiting to get an appointment for their COVID-19 vaccination. Supply of vaccine was inadequate at that time. Now there are an abundance of appointments available locally as a result of increased vaccine supply. We are now at a place where appointments are going unfilled. The health of our families, communities, the economy and our country are all relying on each of us getting vaccinated. Vaccines are safe, easy, and free. They have been granted authorization by the Food and Drug Administration following rigorous testing. While vaccine supplies are significantly improved, COVID-19 cases are on the rise. More and more studies are suggesting that those who have had COVID-19 will likely have long term health implications and the emerging variants of the disease are even more deadly. Doctors and nurs
