How Your Face Shape Changes Depending on the Lens You Use
On 5/10/21 at 11:46 AM EDT
We all have a good side for photographs, and dread the double chin making an appearance if we re caught at an odd angle.
But if you hate the way you look in photos, and suspect the camera was adding a few pounds, you might be right
A viral video using various lenses has revealed how drastically they alter our face shape.
A professional photographer, called @Harrison online, took a series of selfies using more than ten different sizes, ranging from 16mm to 200mm.
The montage shows his face appearing long and thin when shot with the lens at the lowest end.
Scratch that Wandavision itch with classic sci-fi literature
Marianne Vadney
New Disney+ show Wandavision is a big hit, and it is easy to see why. Even if you are new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the characters and themes are relatable in a bizarre TV Land way.
No worries, there will be no spoilers for the show here, but the format of many of the episodes emulate classic TV shows of the 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond.
For many who have grown up with sitcoms, there is sure to be a strong wave of nostalgia.
Quirky visuals aren’t the only reason to watch though. The show tackles tough topics such as loss and, if you are familiar with the backstory of Wanda and Vision (two superheroes from the Avengers movies, comics and more), you know there are questions of artificial intelligence and what makes someone human. Also, a big part of the show (small spoiler) is a community trapped into an endless, fabricated loop.
Jackson County art grants Appalachian Women’s Museum.
The Jackson County Arts Council has awarded $50,250.06 in business interruption grants to local nonprofit arts organizations, other organizations with art programming, and individual artists through the North Carolina CARES for the Arts grant program.
In September, The North Carolina General Assembly designated $9.4 million federal CARES Act funds for arts councils and arts organizations to mitigate business disruptions caused by COVID-19.
The North Carolina Arts Council distributed these funds on a per-capita basis to all North Carolina counties with a population of less than one million people. In many counties, local arts councils received the funds and sub-granted a portion of the county allotment to eligible recipients.
