Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Jason-Pierre Paul did not let the loss of his right index finger and part of his thumb stop him from a Super Bowl LV appearance on Sunday, 7 February. In fact, the NFL has had athletes with disabilities reach remarkable heights.
Before Paul, whose hand was injured in a fireworks accident, there was the late-Tom Dempsey. Born without toes in his right foot or fingers in his right hand, Dempsey kicked a record-breaking, winning field goal for the New Orleans Saints in 1970. In 2018, the Seattle Seahawks drafted Shaquem Griffin, who had his left hand amputated at a young age.

Lincoln City have made their final move of the January transfer window, bringing in midfielder Max Sanders with just minutes to spare.
The 22-year-old midfielder has joined on a permanent deal from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
He has featured on the bench for Brighton on three occasions in the top flight, as well as making three Carabao Cup appearances for the Seagulls.
Max spent last season on loan at AFC Wimbledon, where he made 22 appearances in all competitions, and now joins Lincoln on a two-year deal.

Plans have been submitted for 37 homes and 31 bungalows to be built within the East Lindsey district.
The 37 homes will be situated next to Granary Close in Spilsby and the 31 bungalows on the land north of Thornfield in Wragby.
The two developments await approval and will go before East Lindsey Council’s planning committee in due course for a decision to be made.

The site is located on 1.8ha of land to the north western edge of Spilsby, between existing housing on Granary Close and Partney Road.
